The transportation
of DANGEROUS GOODS by air is regulated and controlled
by IATA and OACI. The purpose of these regulations
is to establish the procedures for the transportation
of dangerous materials in a secure way.
IATA's "REGULATION CONCERNING DANGEROUS GOODS"
is an obliged reference tool for the correct handling
of this type of shipments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
In the case of shipments of restricted goods the
"SENDER" is responsible for the correct
packing, labeling and documentation of the pieces,
all of which will be reviewed by qualified personnel
before their acceptance and transport in an airship
of "CIELOS DEL PERU."
PACKING. - It has to be exactly the one indicated
by IATA's regulations, according to the type of
good that will be transported (Section 5 - regulation
on Dangerous Goods).
MARKED AND LABELED. - The use of several type
of labels is mandatory for the transportation
of restricted materials (Section 7 - regulation
on Dangerous Goods).
DOCUMENTATION. - The sender must provide all the
necessary documentation for the correct handling
of the shipment.
It is also necessary to keep in mind the regulations
and limitations of the countries of origin, transit
and destination.
All the dangerous goods must be delivered to the
warehouse at least 24 hours before the shipment.
TRAINING:
Specific training on this subject is mandatory
for all those involved in the transportation of
dangerous goods under both IATA and OACI's regulations.
